Community Partnership

As one of the state’s largest companies, and with custody of one of the region’s most important infrastructure assets, Brisbane Airport plays a central role in the economic, community and cultural life of Queensland, impacting directly and indirectly on millions of people every day.

Brisbane Airport seeks to support its local community by:

Engaging in the community life of Brisbane and South East Queensland, particularly the areas in close locality to Brisbane Airport;
Involvement in emerging and new world sports that encourage good health and dynamism.
Partnering with the arts to highlight Brisbane as a place that values excellence and culture;
Working with education providers and fostering aviation research to balance the need for progress and development with our commitment to sustainable growth and innovation.

Brisbane Airport Corporation is proud to be involved in the following partnerships:

	Aviation is all about connecting routes and networks, reducing the distance between destinations and bringing people across Queensland and the world closer together. Brisbane Airport values the work of the RFDS, assisting people around the state 24 hours a day, seven days a week - a service which is undoubtedly great for Queensland.
	Brisbane Airport's partnership with QUT is ongoing, with the university effectively functioning as Brisbane Airport's research and development arm, whilst the airport provides a ‘living laboratory’ for QUT to undertake real world research and to strengthen its skills base. Airports around the world are now looking to the Brisbane Airport -QUT partnership as a leader in airport-university cooperation.
	BAC has supported the Brisbane Roar Football Team since 2006 with an aim to lift Brisbane’s profile as a modern, cosmopolitan, world city. BAC and the Roar are very much both young, emerging organisations with big plans for the future. BAC has a goal to be Australia's premier airport and the Brisbane Roar aspires to be Australia's premier football club.
	Brisbane Airport believes the arts are a measure of a true international city and is proud of its involvement with the Queensland Theatre company. Since 2004, Brisbane Airport has been a Major Sponsor of the Emerging Artists Program which fosters new talent for Brisbane’s world class theatre.
	Monday 10 May 2010 marks the tenth anniversary of the opening of Brisbane Powerhouse. Brisbane Powerhouse has a national and international profile spearheading Brisbane’s growing reputation as a vibrant, contemporary creative city.
	Due to a shared strong commitment to the community of Brisbane, Brisbane Airport proudly sponsors the Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra. The Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra is run entirely by its members, presents internationally acclaimed conductors, composers and soloists in a variety of concert venues and is the only Queensland orchestra to have been recognised at the National Orchestra awards.
	Closely aligned values have formed the basis for a positive partnership between Brisbane Airport and Crime Stoppers. The partnership promotes community safety and peace of mind for all Queenlanders and aims to make Queensland a safer State by reducing and solving crime through engaging the community.
	Brisbane Airport's sponsorship of the Institute of Modern Art supports emerging talent across the whole arts spectrum through The New Fresh Cut Program. This Program supports and profiles ground breaking Queensland artists.
	As a Primary Sponsor of the QUT Business Leaders’ Forum, Brisbane Airport's involvement gives key members of Queensland’s business and political community the opportunity to hear prominent speakers explore trends, issues and ideas that are shaping the economy and politics of the nation. The QUT Business Leaders’ Forum is recognised as the pre-eminent business leadership event in Brisbane.
	The Queensland Media Club is the official political, business and media forum of the Queensland Parliamentary Media Gallery and the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance and provides a forum for key business leaders and decision makers, political representatives and media to hear an address on a topical issue. The function abides by Parliamentary Media Gallery protocol with journalists asking questions in a "press conference" style forum.
	Brisbane Airport is proud to sponsor an emerging artist from Camerata of St John 's, a group of talented Australian string players, performing without a conductor. Camerata is known for its verve, stylish presentations, and innovative programming.
	Brisbane Airport is a long term supporter of the local Rotary International Clubs and is the Art Prize Partner for The Rotary Arts Spectacular.
	The Queensland Music Festival is a biennial state-wide celebration of musical excellence and will next be held in 2011. Brisbane Airport is very proud to be a partner in this cutting edge cultural event and to be part of the engaging and diverse program that is great for Queensland.
	In September extraordinary international and Australian artists and productions, free world-class events, emerging fringe theatre, spectacular fireworks, inspiring conversation and debate will fill the theatres, parks and suburban streets for Brisbane Festival. Brisbane Airport is very proud to partner with one of Australia's leading international arts festivals.

To be considered for sponsorship your proposal should:

Clearly articulate the sponsorship’s outcomes;
Show consistency with BAC’s corporate identity and sustainability objectives;
Have a clear budget requirement;
Include a timetable for reporting back sponsorship outcomes to BAC;
Support a not for profit body or project;
Fit to one page.

Sponsorship proposals will be reviewed quarterly by the Sponsorship Committee. Applicants will be notified in the case that their application is chosen to progress.
