The Brisbane Airport 2009 Master Plan and Airport Environment Strategy are designed to support Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Ltd (BAC) in meeting the challenges of sustainable growth. Consistent with previous Master Plans, the Brisbane Airport 2009 Master Plan provides a clear vision for the coming 20 years of a major 24-hour international airport servicing a vast geographic area, handling more than 45 million passengers and providing jobs for over 50,000 workers by 2029, with significant flow-on benefits to the economy and lifestyle of Queensland. The Airport Environment Strategy outlines the strategic approach for environmental management of the airport for

Brisbane Airport Master Plan

BAC has outlined its 20-year vision for Brisbane Airport by releasing the 2009 Master Plan for Queensland’s premier aviation gateway. The Master Plan outlines BAC’s plans for the Airport to 2029 and beyond, and details how BAC will sustainably manage the economic, operational, social and environmental aspects of the airport well into the future.

Airport Master Plans are a requirement of the Airport Acts 1996 and are prepared by major Australian airports every five years to provide a clear direction for the growth and development of Australia’s critical aviation gateways. They help to ensure that vital aviation infrastructure is delivered when and where it is needed, as well as maximising the significant economic, social and environmental benefits that well-planned airports can deliver.
