BAC appoints new CEO

The Board of Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) today announced the appointment of a new CEO to replace retiring CEO Koen Rooijmans.
Following an international search, the Board has appointed Julieanne Alroe as Managing Director and CEO who will take up the role mid-year.
Julieanne Alroe has more than 30 years management experience at Sydney Airport including most recently the role of General Manager, Infrastructure Planning and Services.
BAC Acting Chairman John Ward said, “After a worldwide search, Julieanne Alroe is the best qualified person to take on the challenges of continuing the expansion of Brisbane Airport as one of Australia’s critical aviation gateways.
“Julieanne Alroe has extensive experience in the retail, commercial and operational functions required leading a world-class airport.”
At Sydney Airport, Julieanne Alroe was responsible for the $500 million upgrade to the International Terminal, a $128 million project to prepare for the new A380 super jumbo, and the Airport’s 20-year Master Plan.
Mr Ward said, “Julieanne Alroe has the skills and experience to lead a world-class airport that is acknowledged as one of the best in the Asia-Pacific region and an integral part of the Queensland economy.”
Mr Ward thanked Koen Rooijmans for his leadership as Managing Director and CEO of Brisbane Airport since its privatisation in 1997.
“Koen Rooijmans led Brisbane Airport through almost 12 years of enormous expansion and unprecedented industry challenges to create a world-class facility with a capable and experienced management team,” said Mr Ward.
“The Board is grateful for Koen’s vision and leadership of BAC and wishes him well for the future.”
