New Fast Track Kiosk Check-in Facilities Launched at BNE International

Brisbane Airport (BNE) and Air New Zealand have this week unveiled 10 new self-check kiosk facilities at the airport’s international terminal enabling passengers travelling with Air New Zealand to scan their machine readable passports and be issued with a boarding pass and bag tags in a process that takes less than two minutes to complete.

 

Passengers with check-in baggage then take it to the ‘bag drop’ area where staff will check their ID and scan their bag tags to accept them for travel.

 

Julieanne Alroe, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) CEO and Managing Director, said the new kiosks would almost eliminate queuing and significantly improve the airport experience for Air New Zealand travellers.

 

“As part of BAC’s Digital Strategy we are embracing new technology that aims to enhance the journey through the airport as well as allowing us to make the best use of the space we have.

 

“This is the first time self-service check-in kiosks have been offered for international travellers at BNE and we’re pleased to be partnering with Air New Zealand which pioneered this system in New Zealand.

 

“If the kiosks are well received we’ll aim to roll out more at both the domestic and international terminals,” Ms Alroe said.

 

Air New Zealand’s Chief Operations Officer Bruce Parton says the airline also offers kiosk check-in for all flights at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown, Sydney and Melbourne Airports and they are extremely popular, with around 80 per cent of customers choosing this quicker method.

 

Air New Zealand staff will be on hand to assist passengers and a check-in counter will also be exclusively available for premium passengers.
