Virgin Australia System Changes
7 January 2013
This month Virgin Australia is introducing a new Sabre booking and check-in system that will enable it to provide customers with more choice and a more seamless travel experience.
Important information for Virgin customers regarding the transition:
Virgin advises on the 12 and 13 January its booking system and online check-in will be offline:
- If you are planning to book flights or make changes to a current booking, please do so before the 12 January.
- If you are travelling with Virgin domestically during this period, please check-in for your flight at the Virgin Australia counters at the airport as its web and mobile check-in services will not be available.
Between the 12 and 20 January the booking and check-in process may be slower than usual: If you are travelling with Virgin Australia during this period, please bring a printed copy of your Virgin Australia E-ticket or itinerary and arrive at the airport check-in:
- At least 60 minutes prior to departure for Domestic flights.
- At least 3 hours prior to departure for International flights.
Virgin has put on extra staff at Brisbane Airport and other airports and call centres to assist customers and is working hard to ensure minimal disruption during this period.
Please note that from 14 January 2013, all Virgin Australia flight numbers will begin with the code “VA” rather than “DJ”.
