Parking At Brisbane Airport - Access For All
Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Ltd (BAC) aims to provide facilities that are accessible by all members of the community.
This commitment is achieved, in part, by incorporating the requirements of Building Code of Australia regulations and applicable Australian Standards into the Airport Building Approval process. In addition, access consultants are engaged for major terminal upgrade projects to ensure inclusive access is provided in and around terminal buildings and car parks. BAC also works closely with representative groups to ensure that airport developments meet the needs and expectations of all travellers.
Although most airlines are able to assist passengers to and from their aircraft and through the border agencies process, it is important that passengers advise their airline in advance if any assistance is required.
This proactive, collaborative approach helps to ensure an inclusive and accessible environment is provided for all visitors to Brisbane Airport.
Some of the facilities provided by BAC at both terminals include:
- Wide lifts operating between all floors.
- Ramp walkways and aerobridges to access aircraft.
- Luggage Trolleys available on Arrivals Level 2 and Departures Level 4 of the International Terminal and on the right hand side of the passenger pick up/set down road at the Domestic Terminal.
International Terminal:
- Wheelchair set downs on Departures Level 4 and Arrivals Level 2.
- Designated space in public car parks. Click here to download Disability Parking Map.
- Access to the Bus Parking Area via a ramp from Arrivals Level 2.
- Shops, dining areas and airline facilities designed for people with special needs.
- All blue and red disability permits are accepted and must be displayed on the vehicle at all times.
(Vehicles must not be left unattended at any time due to the current security measures of the International Terminal)
Domestic Terminal:
- The public pick-up and drop-off road provides six accessible parking bays located underneath the Skywalk pedestrian overpass.
- All designated bays are located on the left hand side of the road and are kerbless.
- The bays are clearly marked and situated close to lift access for Skywalk. Skywalk is a pedestrian overpass that will open in mid 2012 to connect visitors directly to the Domestic Terminal without having to cross the terminal roads. Until Skywalk is open, please continue to access the Terminal via the pedestrian crossings on the face roads.
- Vehicles will be required to display an Australian Disability Parking Permit (ADPP) or a Queensland Disability Parking Permit (Red) to use the accessible parking bays. Vehicles displaying these permits can be left unattended for up to thirty (30) minutes to allow passengers with disabilities to be assisted to and from the terminal.
- If you require the use of a bay, but do not have the required permit, please call (07) 3406 3261 between 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday and at least 24 business hours in advance to discuss arrangements. If prior arrangements are not made, fines may apply.
- Contact your airline for assistance and wheelchairs.
- Designated disabled bays are also available in the multi-level car parks. Click here to download Disability Parking Maps.
