Aviation Australia’s Brisbane Airport facility provides a world-class training environment for the aviation and aerospace industries domestically and internationally. It supports engineering, cabin crew and piloting.
The custom designed 18,921sqm facility includes a technical training centre with an operational air hangar and flight simulator, rescue pool and 20 lecture rooms, with a sublease to LifeFlight supporting its state-of-the-art Thales helicopter simulator.
Air Menzies International
Long-term Brisbane Airport tenant, Air Menzies International, sought an expanded facility to increase capacity for its growing operations.
Brisbane Airport developed a state-of-the-art facility on a 10,155sqm site at Airport Industrial Park.
It includes a 500 sqm main office on ground level, a 2,500sqm warehouse area, 38 parking bays and four at-grade loading docks.
Sustainability features include translucent roof sheeting for insulation, a light-filled design and energy efficient fittings.
ibis Hotel
Ibis Brisbane Airport Hotel opened in 2014 as part of the Brisbane Airport Hotels and Conference Centre precinct.
The hotel provides affordable accommodation in the airport precinct, catering to families and business travellers.
With 243 guest rooms, including 99 superior rooms, an all-day bistro and the stylish Sky Lounge rooftop venue, it has all the makings of a comfortable stay.
NIOA
Brisbane Airport worked closely with NIOA to deliver a sustainable new office in a strategic location.
The five-storey tower was the first Australian multi-storey commercial building created from Mass Engineered Timber. Using prefabricated panels, the 1,445 sqm office was erected in less than a month, with the whole project constructed in seven months.
The project included a state-of-the-art boardroom space and a new glazed staff courtyard to provide seamless linkage to the adjacent existing building.
Milestones Early Learning Centre
Milestones Early Learning provides an essential service for working parents in the Brisbane Airport precinct and surrounds with quality childcare and pre-school.
The contemporary 3,421 sqm childcare centre includes dedicated spaces for children to engage in cooking, yoga, sport, performing arts and sustainability activities.
There are also staff offices, 6 bathrooms, storage and on-site parking.
Located in Skygate, the centre is easily accessible from the major arterial roads and Gateway Motorway.
LifeFlight Training Academy
LifeFlight Australia is a world leader in aeromedical care providing Queensland’s leading helicopter rescue service and collaborating with the Royal Flying Doctor service to provide urgent medical care in remote areas.
The airport facility includes fully equipped raining rooms, a medical and aircrew simulator, breakout areas and lunchroom and on-site parking.
Journey Early Learning Centre
Brisbane Airport worked with Journey Early Learning to develop its 4,500sqm childcare centre, based around its goals to encourage play-based learning.
The 1,456sqm centre has 7 distinct rooms for nursery, toddlers, pre-kinder, and kindergarten, that tailor the learning experience for each age.
There was a focus on the 1,495sqm outdoor area, including landscaping, raised gardens, nature play zones, water play areas and children’s play equipment.
Sime Darby
Sime Darby chose Brisbane Airport to expand its Queensland footprint in 2022, leasing a 10,000sqm warehouse and distribution facility on a 21,000sqm site at Export Park to support its logistics operations.
The company, one of Australia’s leading automotive groups, joined Brisbane Airport’s growing network of transport and logistics companies to take advantage of the unparalleled land, sea and air connectivity at the airport precinct.
Skygate Centre
Skygate Centre was developed to meet retail and office demand for a strong and growing customer base of local residents, and airport workers and visitors.
The complex offers a range of leasing opportunities, spanning commercial tenancies and retail spaces.
Skygate Centre features Queensland’s only 24/7 supermarket, and 15 specialty shops, a gym and Dan Murphy’s.
Throughout 2021, 2.2 million people attended the precinct, generating sales of more than $54 million in the 12 months to July 2021.
Haymans Electrical
Haymans Electrical’s 5,600sqm Brisbane Airport facility is the company’s largest electrical wholesale branch in Australia with all the advantages of the precinct’s amenity, location and design flexibility.
Trade wholesale distributor Haymans, part of the national MM Electrical Merchandising group, had outgrown its existing location but wished to retain the convenience and connection at the airport.
Their new facility was designed by ARTAS architects and constructed by Tomkins Commercial Builders in an 11-month build.
