Upon arrival, make your way to your airline’s check-in desk. We recommend arriving:
1 hour prior to your domestic flight;
3 hours prior to your international flight (to account for security screening and Passport Control);
Adding extra time on top of the recommended allowance in peak season such as school holidays or if you wish to claim the Tourist Refund Scheme.
We also recommend contacting your airline about check-in times, especially if travelling in a large group.
If you’re travelling domestically, all airline check-in desks are located on Level 1 of the Domestic Terminal.
Qantas and Qantaslink at the northern end of the Terminal (Gates 1-25)
Virgin Australia at the southern end of the Terminal (Gates 38-50)
Check-in for all airlines is located on Level 4 (Departures Hall) of the International Terminal.
If you require assistance, please contact your airline prior to your flight to make arrangements for your transit.
Passengers who require assistance may include:
Those who require a wheelchair;
Those travelling with an assistance animal;
If you are a passenger in need of assistance, please make yourself known to your airline’s check-in desk on arrival and they will arrange the relevant assistance.
Group check-in is available at both the Domestic and International Terminal. Your travel agent or airline will make the necessary arrangements for your group to check-in together. Please let the airline staff know if you have any special requirements for group travel.
Every airline has its own luggage restrictions (size, shape, weight, quantity), so you’ll need to check with your carrier about their requirements for your flight. Your airline will also have provisions for oversized items and provide instructions on where these need to be dropped.
No need to play the guessing game or try to wheel a large suitcase onto small kitchen scales - Brisbane Airport provides luggage scales to confirm the weight of your bag prior to check-in. You’ll find them located near the check in desks at both the International and Domestic Terminals.
