In 2025, we celebrate 100 years of our growth from a tiny aerodrome in Eagle Farm to one of the world's best airports located on the edge of Moreton Bay.
Here are a few ways to learn more about Brisbane Airport's history:
- Take a look at our online history timeline.
- At the Level 2 Arrivals Hall at our International Terminal there are two history timelines at both ends of the terminal. Explore over 60 images of our history and enjoy some aviation memorabilia on display.
- Visit the Kingsford Smith Memorial and see the original Southern Cross aircraft flown by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith from USA to Brisbane in 1928.

Good news, therapy dogs are returning during the Easter school holidays. The canine ambassadors from Therapy and Support Animals Australia are coming into the terminal with their handlers to provide a furry support to manage any preflight anxiety and put a smile on travellers faces.
You can meet the therapy dogs at the following times;
- Thursday 10 April | 12pm - 2pm | Domestic Terminal
- Friday 11 April | 9am - 11am | International Terminal
- Tuesday 15 April | 12pm - 2pm | Domestic Terminal
- Thursday 17 April | 12pm - 2pm | Domestic Terminal
- Tuesday 22 April | 9am - 11am | International Terminal
- Thursday 24 April | 12pm - 2pm | Domestic Terminal
