Brisbane Festival is one of Australia’s major international arts festivals. Each September, it explodes across the city with a thrilling program of theatre, music, dance, circus, opera and major public events such as Sunsuper Riverfire. Attracting an audience of around one million people every year, Brisbane Festival aims to connect artists and audiences in ways that lift the spirit, disrupt the conventional and open our city to the world.

The Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) is Brisbane’s leading and most dynamic community orchestra and brings together up to 200 musicians a year to play a variety of orchestral music. Created in 2000, the BPO was founded on principles of musical excellence and development, communal participation, and organisational professionalism.
The BPO has a strong history of maintaining various community partnerships including with the Queensland Music Festival, 4MBS Festival of Classics, the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Brisbane City Council, and The Brisbane Airport Corporation. These partnerships provide essential connections in artistic, educational, professional, and social programs and cater to the orchestra’s increased responsibility to culturally enhance localities and bring a diversity of people together to enrich Brisbane’s artistic scene.

The partnership, now in its 12th year, is founded on our joint commitment to support and engage with our local community. Together we support artists and cultural activities that help make South East Queensland one of the world’s great places to live, work and visit.
A signature feature of our partnership is bringing the World Press Photo exhibition to Brisbane each year. The World Press Photo exhibition is known for inspiring global audiences and connecting with local audiences across 45 countries. Expressions Dance Company (EDC) is Queensland’s premiere dance theatre company. Since 1984 EDC has created more than 170 works by more than 75 renowned national and international choreographers. In addition to regularly performing at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) and other Brisbane venues such as The Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts and Brisbane Powerhouse, the company has enjoyed 22 international tours to 17 countries and 23 major Australian tours. Under the leadership of internationally acclaimed Artistic Director Natalie Weir the company’s work is achieving significant recognition through national awards and nominations, including 10 Helpmann Award and 10 Australian Dance Award nominations. The HWY platform has produced a number of brilliant new Australian works in recent years including Michelle Law’s smash hit Single Asian Female and La Boite’s 2018 world premiere production The Mathematics of Longing. Museum of Brisbane brings our city’s vibrant art, culture and history to life through our exhibitions, workshops, tours, talks and children’s activities.
Located in City Hall, the Museum is part of the living history of the city, examining how Brisbane and its people change over time and how our individual and collective stories reveal our character and create our identity. We are also the keeper of City Hall’s rich heritage, and visitors can experience a bird’s eye view of Brisbane from the top of the iconic Clock Tower on one of our popular tours, as well as learn the stories behind City Hall during an insider’s tour of the 90-year-old building.
Museum of Brisbane is an avid supporter of the city’s artists, designers and artisans. We are dedicated to transforming their artistic vision into a stunning reality through our exhibitions and artist-in-residence programs. Queensland Music Festival is a state-wide celebration of musical excellence with a vision to transform lives and communities through music.
QMF has redefined the traditional festival model to engage deeply with communities over time, igniting artistic potential and leaving a lasting legacy. Since 1999 the Festival has engaged more than a million people through projects in 91 locations across the State.
Brisbane Airport Corporation has been a major supporter of QMF’s Brisbane program for over 12 years, helping to foster a vibrant arts sector in the city through the support of large-scale signature events such as You’re The Voice, Keys to the City and the World’s Biggest Orchestra.
Queensland Theatre is proud of its long-term relationship with Brisbane Airport Corporation. The beautiful courtyard, which is the main entry through to the Bille Brown Studio, is supported by Brisbane Airport. Through this sponsorship, the courtyard was enhanced with the installation of lush greenery and a stunning vertical garden wall, softening some of the more angular features and creating a warm, welcoming environment.
The courtyard and theatre will soon commence a renovation project. The completion date is August 2018. This is the most exciting transformation undertaken by Queensland Theatre. Soon we will be able to seat 360 patrons in the newly-designed Bille Brown Theatre, an increase of 30% on current capacity.

In its second year, the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens will be back even bigger and better in 2018.
Set for February 9 and 10, the tournament switches to a day-night format over Friday and Saturday evenings. The switch provides travelling fans with the perfect chance to make the most of a quick getaway to Brisbane – check out all the city has to offer before enjoying an afternoon of top class, thrilling rugby.
Next year’s tournament again features all the Australian and New Zealand Super sides plus All Blacks-laden French newcomers Pau, Olympic Sevens champions Fiji, hard-hitting Samoa and fan favourites the Panasonic Wild Knights of Japan.
The star-packed teams will compete over two days in a ten-players-per-side, ten-minutes per-half knockout tournament. All Blacks wing Julian Savea and Wallabies star Kurtley Beale are the big names already confirmed, so make sure you’re there too.

Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra, has established itself as a chamber orchestra of national significance with an outstanding track record of artistic achievement. A Company-in-Residence at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), Camerata’s vision is to empower artists, inspire audiences, and enrich communities through music.
Performing without a conductor, the 18-member core ensemble and their guest artists proudly take full ownership of the music-making in the spirit of chamber music to form a thriving, refreshing and acclaimed voice. Under Artistic Director Brendan Joyce, the group undertakes an annual regional Queensland tour and a subscription concert season in both Brisbane and Toowoomba.
Camerata has a reputation for innovation and interesting and adventurous programming. Brisbane Airport Corporation’s support as a highly valued Program Partner enables Camerata’s ambitious vision to grow audiences 25 percent annually for its mainstage season performed at QPAC. With BAC support this bold plan has been achieved 2015, 2016, and 2017 ensuring more Queenslanders access high quality artistic experiences
