The P2 multistorey carpark at the Domestic Terminal is being expanded to provide more options for passengers.
- Over 1,700 new parking bays.
- Offers passengers a safe and secure place to leave their vehicle, protected from the elements—just a short distance to the Domestic Terminal.
This extension involves the removal of the 30-minute free waiting area and space for vehicles over 2.4m in height.
- New 30-minute free parking: Brisbane Airport now offers 30 minutes of free parking at the Domestic ParkShort car park (located on Level 2 of the P1 car park).
- Overheight vehicles: Vehicles over 2.4m high need to use AIRPARK, with free buses to and from the terminal.
The P2 Parking Extension project is soaring to new heights with a 20 metre crane installed on site in October 2024. This milestone signals the end of foundational ground works and will enable precast columns, heavy equipment and material to be safely lifted into place as we continue building the car park extension from the ground up. The crane is anticipated to be in place for the rest of the construction phase until mid-2025.
- The vast roof of the extension will feature solar panels, complementing the Airport's significant renewable power generation capacity.
- Sustainable building and procurement practices will also be part of the project.
- Active transport users will be supported by providing sheltered storage for scooters and bikes, a short walk from the Domestic Terminal.
