Redevelopment works have been completed in the southern end of the Domestic Terminal (predominantly servicing Virgin flights).
Brisbane Airport invested $7.8m as part of this project, which will delivered 10 new and refurbished food and beverage outlets and adjacent gate lounge seating areas for passengers to enjoy while they wait for their flight.
This is the final stage of the Domestic Terminal Redevelopment, which began in 2018 and included 50 new and refurbished retail outlets in the northern and central terminal areas.
Brisbane Airport is committed to elevating the airport dining experience with chef-led concepts and the use of local produce. Three new dine-in restaurants were delivered as part of this retail upgrade project including:
- Local - a new 360-degree restaurant inspired by the warm hospitality of a Queensland beer garden.
- The Independent - will feature a new menu every quarter by a nationally acclaimed chef and launched with Luke Mangan in the pilot's seat.
- Bellissimo - Brisbane coffee icon has landed at Brisbane Airport.
As part of this retail upgrade, we also improved the look and feel of our gate lounges and waiting areas including more seating and charging amenties.
Unita played a pivotal role in transforming the retail and terminal spaces at the Domestic Terminal. The team was responsible for the foundational work for a new café and bar, significant upgrades to Virgin Australia’s gate and seating areas, and the introduction of popular brands such as Red Rooster, Boost Juice International, and Sushi Sushi. These enhancements were specifically designed and delivered to elevate the passenger experience.
