There are no shortage of lifts and travelators at Brisbane Airport to get you from A to B.
For safety reasons, we recommend passengers with mobility issues use the lifts rather than travelators, escalators or stairs when transiting through the airport.
The Domestic and International Terminals are two kilometres apart, but are connected by transport options for passengers transiting between the two.
Travellers have the choice of travelling by:

We know there’s plenty of waiting to be done at the airport before you reach that plane seat, which is why we provide an abundance of seating options throughout the Terminal.
Priority seating is provided to passengers with disabilities, limited mobility, as well as passengers travelling with young children and unaccompanied minors. You’ll find these seats identifiable by the accessible symbol on their headrests.
Arrivals and departures are displayed on Flight Information Display Screens across all public locations in the airport precinct. The information displayed on these screens is supplemented by public address announcements to ensure you always know where to go.
We recommend all passengers arrive at the boarding gate prior to the scheduled boarding time:
- Domestic flights - boarding typically commences 30 minutes prior to scheduled flight departure.
- International flights - boarding typically commences 40 minutes prior to scheduled flight departure.
All International Terminal directory boards incorporate tactile and Braille features to make your time with us more accessible.
There are drinking fountains throughout both the Domestic and International Terminals. Accessible drinking fountains are installed throughout the International Terminal.
All toilets in Brisbane Airport cater for people with mobility requirements. The accessible toilets throughout the Terminals are unisex.
On Level 1 of the Domestic Terminal you’ll find our first ‘Changing Places’ bathroom facility. Changing Places bathrooms provide additional space for people with profound disabilities and their carers to use the amenities more comfortably.
Most aircraft are accessible via an aerobridge, however some flights may require passengers to descend via stairs to access the plane from the tarmac.
If you have advised your airline of your requirements, boarding assistance will be ready and available to you. Devices are available for lifting passengers on and off aircraft not equipped with aerobridges.

Our airline partners operate the people-movers (buggies) that can often be seen transporting people to and from their gate.

You’ll find a team of helpful airport ambassadors in both Terminals, wearing blue shirts and ready to answer your questions.
This team of volunteers are a wealth of information - and great contacts on the ground if anything at the airport is troubling you.
You’ll find them roaming the International Terminal and at the Visitor Information Desk of the Domestic Terminal.
