With construction on its new Queensland headquarters about to commence, SCEE Group is getting ready to call Brisbane Airport’s Da Vinci Business Park home.
SCEE Group (Southern Cross Electrical Engineering Limited), is a leading and trusted national provider of specialised electrical, instrumentation, communications, security, and maintenance services and products, has snapped up the site containing Brisbane Airport’s third proactive industrial development.
SCEE Group’s premium new Da Vinci Business Park base will comprise a 3,569 sqm state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, 1,000 sqm office, and 48 on-site car parking bays with street appeal.
The business will bring another 80 jobs to the Brisbane Airport precinct, already home to more than 20,000 workers each day, making it one of South East Queensland's largest employment hubs outside of the CBD.
Brisbane Airport’s Head of Industrial Property & Logistics, Todd Perry, announced that construction will begin shortly, with completion expected in June 2025.
He said the ambitious project seeks to achieve a Green Star 5 Star rating thanks to adopting sustainable development practices.
“At a minimum, there will be solar panels, rainwater harvesting, electric vehicle charging units, and the implementation of lower carbon products and materials,” Mr. Perry said.
Interest in this particular development from prospective tenants was incredibly high, with SCEE Group emerging successfully from a strong field, Mr. Perry added.
“We’re charging ahead with a lot of proactive development here, building spaces without a lease commitment because we are so confident. The demand is that significant. We’re really busy, to say the least.”
Graeme Dunn, SCEE Group’s Chief Executive Officer, shared his excitement about bringing a number of the group’s subsidiaries, including Trivantage Manufacturing, SJ Electric, SEME Solution and SCEE Electrical, together under one roof .
“We have a strong track record of utilising the service offerings across the SCEE Group to deliver solutions for our clients. The co-location of our Brisbane based operations will further enhance this by encouraging increased integration and collaboration between the businesses,” said Mr Dunn.
Brisbane Airport Corporation Executive General Manager Commercial Martin Ryan said Da Vinci Business Park had already attracted several tenants in the research, education, and training spaces.
“SCEE Group joins a number of like-minded businesses pursuing innovation including GE Aviation, Queensland University of Technology, and Aviation Australia,” Mr. Ryan said.
“We’re really proud of the offering we bring to the market with Da Vinci Business Park and throughout the broader Airport City zone.
“Demand for suitable industrial spaces is sky-high, and we are providing businesses with elevated offerings that include premium amenities in an excellent, well-connected location.
“Of course, our tenants have access not just to the road and the air but also the sea, with the Port of Brisbane very close by. It ticks a lot of boxes.”
Brisbane Airport is in the midst of its $5b Future BNE transformation, which includes upgrades to the Domestic Terminal, International Terminal, planning for a new Terminal 3, as well as retail and industrial developments.
